A S0DEN’s Draft Spotlight

As the Pro League playoffs come to an end, let’s take a closer look at my Top 5 Draft Prospects and where I think they will go.

Trevor Lawrence Jaguars, #6 Overall Pick – Lawrence finished his NCAA career with 6,945 yards and 66 TD’s. Trevor Lawrence will most likely fall to the 6th overall pick where he will be drafted by the Jaguars. The 5 teams before the Jaguars are not in-need of a Quarterback at the moment, with the exception of the Giants. I believe that the Giants will stick with Daniel Jones and Draft another player on this List.

Patrick Surtain II Packers, #1 Overall Pick – Surtain finished his NCAA career with 111 tackles, 4 INT’s, 4 forced fumbles, and one TD. Patrick Surtain is a player who can generate big plays for a defense. For this reason I believe that he will be the number one overall pick. Surtain will be drafted by the Packers, they have Jaire Alexander and Kevin King, with the addition of Patrick Surtain II The Packers secondary would easily be top 10 in the Pro League.

Devonta SmithDolphins, #4 Overall Pick – Smith in his last year won the Heisman trophy in a season where he racked up 117 catches for 1,856 yards and 23 touchdowns. Over his NCAA career he ended up with 235 catches, 3,965 yards, and 46 TD’s. Smith has the ability to be a receiver that will boost the offensive power of any team he gets drafted by exponentially. For this reason I think that he will be drafted by the Dolphins. The Dolphins are in the same division as two teams that have very good defensive backs that don’t allow many openings and force a lot of turnovers. For this reason the Dolphins will probably select the WR out of Alabama to help their Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and pair up with WR DeVonte Parker to create an offense that is difficult to stop.

Justin Fields Jets, #11 Overall Pick – Fields is an amazing QB that threw for 6 TD’s in a single Playoff Game. Fields also had a total of 5,701 yards and 67 TD’s in his NCAA career. He will go to a team that needs a better Quarterback but I predict him getting drafted by the Jets 5 picks after QB Trevor Lawrence. The Jets currently have Sam Darnold at the helm. Darnold may be an okay QB, but for the Jets to win in their division they will need someone who can consistently make plays for them. After they draft him I believe the jets will go after OL in the later wounds because, your QB can’t do anything if he is instantly sacked.

Najee HarrisDolphins, #36 Overall Pick – Harris, on a team with the Heisman winning WR, finished his last season with 251 carries, 1,466 yards and 26 TD’s. Harris, on a team that had one of the most productive WR’s in the NCAA was able to put together a very productive year and could have done even better if not for the presence of WR Devonta Smith. Harris, even though he did so well, may fall into the second round, simply because not many teams need a HB at the moment. I believe that he will be drafted pick number 36 by the Dolphins. The Dolphins would then an offense that would be difficult to stop even for the best of offenses. Harris could also develop into a top back in the league, he is also able to be used through the air with his average of 7.6 yards per reception.
