Pro League

Battle of the Soden’s

Soden was founded and named “Soden Bowl” because of the creation of a league that was based on a league for our family members to play in while I recovered from massive knee surgery. We wanted to play in a league together but we live across country from each other. Soden Bowl was born, since then we have had a lot of classic games with various “Soden’s” in the leagues. This week in Pro League next gen Xbox action I matchup with A S0DEN in our 7th career head to head matchup.

It was all Titans in the 1st half, my Titans stormed out to a 21-0 lead off a huge half from breakout player Jonnu Smith, Smith finished the game with 8 receptions for 182 yards and 3 of the 4 touchdowns scored for the Titans. The story of the night for the Titans was Todd Gurley II (signed via free agency) who rushed for over 100 yards (124) for the 1st time as a Titan. Gurley was brought on board to help bolster the Titans ground game that last season just feature Derrick Henry. Henry lead all running backs in carries and yards, the reduction in carries is something I wanted to see to help preserve the health of the X-Factor running back during the season. Todd Gurley II also gives the Titans a pass catching threat out of the backfield.

The New England Patriots made this thing a ball game as they pulled with in 2 points with just 56 seconds left in the 4th quarter (30-28). Dak Prescott in his 2nd start as a Patriot finished with 296 passing yards and 4 touchdowns. Brandon Cooks caught 4 of the 6 passes for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns including a brilliant play action fake – receiver screen pass to the opposite side. The defensive back rushed in at Dak Prescott thinking it was a running play and left Cooks all alone for the easy touchdown.

The Titans closed out the game by recovering the onside kick and converting a 1st down to seal the victory, their 6th straight 30-28. The Titans improve to 6-1 on the season and the Patriots fall to 5-3 and in a tie for 1st place with LoadedLoonatic’s Miami Dolphins (5-3).
