Week 3 (and the final week) of the Preseason is in the books. The Browns finish up 3-0 with a perfect preseason. What did we learn heading into the regular season?
1) We asked if Baker is that dude. The Browns were contemplating going in a different direction, but chose to give Baker the ball one more time. He’s answered with 608yds and 8 TDs in the preseason, including a 330yd 4TD performance in the final game (in 3 qtrs) against the Falcons. He has earned the chance to be the QB for the Browns. Is this the year?
2) The Defensive Backfield has shown that it’s deep and it’s filled with Ballhawks. After some strong competition, rookie CB Newsome has taken the starting job opposite CB Denzel Ward. FS Delpit has made his case for a breakout yr as he had 2 INTs and a TD this preseason. With the addition of DT Akiem Hicks via trade, the front 7 is ready to go. LB Meander has started his ascent into a solid yr, leading the preseason in tackles. The Dawg Pound looks ready to go
3) Speed. Speed. Speed. That’s the motto for this team and this offense. With RB Cohen coming in to join RB Chubb in the backfield, WRs Newsome, Schwartz, Landry, and TEs Njoku and Hooper… it is matchup hell all over the field. The key is execution. Coach (now owner) Stukid is one of the better coaches around, but it means nothing u less its proven on the field.
An exciting year is ahead for the Browns #DemDawgs
