The Falcons and Coach Smith came into the week 1 home game against the Eagles after going 1-3 on the preseason. Coach Smith liked what he saw for the most part in the preseason and wanted to carry all the good into this week 1 match-up. The Falcons Offense started out moving the ball and through the air at that, Rookie TE was the main target early in often in this one as he racked up 7rec 84yards 2TD. Once the Eagles figured it out they ended up picking Ryan off 3 times and Coach Smith said the turnovers will have to come down if they are to be successful this season. The D came to play as they racked up 5sacks and 4INT in this one and got a hard earned 14-28 victory. The running of Cordarrell Patterson was also big as he finished with 15ATT 107yards 2TD, we travel to play division foe Bucs in week 2
