I was able to take in the full effect of the Soden Bowl atmosphere early this morning as I watched the re-broadcast of the pre season kickoff on the Soden Bowl Network. It was very entertaining to watch S S0DEN do his magic on Prime Time.
Last nights game provided some interesting notes for me, the game featured a Hall of Fame coach verse a coach who is adjusting to the dynamics of a new game on a new console.
Here is the five glaring things we learned from last nights Soden Bowl Network game:
1. Trey Lance is the future in San Francisco, Jimmy Garoppolo did not see one snap last night. Trey Lance looked really good behind center, he did have a couple bad throws but in the end I feel he established himself as the future for the Niners.
2. Lions have a defense, their defense was on point most of the game even after allowing twenty points. The Lions defense found itself in a hole from the start as the Lions offense turned the ball over more in one half than Ryan Leaf did in his limited NFL career. Joking aside, the Lions defense provided many chances for the team to get back in the game.
3. Jared Goff continues to struggle even after a change in scenery. Jared Goff often held the ball longer than the offensive line could hold their blocks. The Lions offense seemed to move the football very well, the first drive looked like gold for Billy Hoyle 31 but a bad throw resulted in the first of three end zone interceptions. Jared Goff will need to speed up his progressions and rely on a few more check downs in week two.
4. NFC West was not expected to be among the leagues top divisions but after last nights showing by Trey Lance and coach SwingOnDeez, the NFC West now appears to be very talented and a tough out for other teams.
5. Billy Hoyle 31 is adjusting to a new game with a new team on a new console but if you watched the game and not the box score you would have noticed that he was in the game even when out of the game. Billy Hoyle 31 displayed some talented gaming skills, good play calling and the ability to play solid defense. Billy Hoyle 31 will be okay this year, it may take half a season to get things going in the right direction but it will happen and it will happen soon.
