With the bright lights shining upon us for the Soden Bowl match up of the week, we were ready for this divisional matchup. We came into the game with a mindset of limiting turnovers. The defense was still fired up from last week’s performance against GB. The game was back and forth until the 4th quarter, when the Saints exploded for 21 points. Final score: 35-17. Next week we face Mac Jones and the Patriots.
Saints came into Week 3 fresh off their victory against division rival Carolina Panthers. Hours before the game, FA WR Cameron Batson was signed and inserted into the starting lineup. It proved to be a huge signing, as he sparked the New Orleans offense with 5 receptions 113 yards and 2 TD’s. Special teams played a huge roll as well. Securing a blocked PAT that turned into 2 points, forced fumble on a kickoff that led to 6 points, and Lutz was perfect on the day kicking. Final score: 26-16
